I have found the Scarsdale Diet really works for me, so that is what I’m on now, but you need to find what works best for you. (And a nutritionist can definitely help with this!)

The diet is a low-carb, high-protein diet, developed by a cardiologist named Herman Tarnower. The diet philosophy is essentially cutting down on carbohydrates, eating plenty of fish, lean meat, fruit and vegetables and really cutting out fats, salt and sweets. You spend two weeks following the diet and then two weeks off. It shocks your system into submission I suppose! I particularly like that it has simple, clearly defined plan and rules.
